Christmas is nearly upon us, and for many people these days are a mix of excitement, tiredness, memories, and emotion. In the middle of all that, the Church simply wants to offer a welcome space — a place to pause, to breathe, and to remember that Christmas begins with God quietly coming close, just as we are.
Across the Pastoral Area there are plenty of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses, spread across different churches and times, so people can come in a way that fits family life, travel plans, or simply energy levels. Whether you like an early evening Mass, a calm Christmas morning celebration, or somewhere familiar from years gone by, there’s a place for you
In the days just before Christmas, there will also be opportunities for Confession on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December. These moments aren’t about pressure or perfection — they’re simply a chance to clear the head and heart, to let go of what weighs heavy, and to step into Christmas a little lighter and freer.
Christmas can stir up a lot — joy and gratitude, but also loss, longing, or quiet sadness. If this year feels different for you, know that you’re not alone. You don’t need the right words or the perfect frame of mind. Just being present is enough.
So wherever you find yourself this Christmas — deeply rooted in faith, gently searching, or somewhere in between — you are very welcome. Come for the music, the silence, the story, or the sense of togetherness. Above all, come knowing that this is a place where you belong.
Blessings of Christmas to you all!
